What is a Pre-Production Inspection?
A Pre-Production Inspection (PPI) is a type of quality control inspection that is conducted before the start of production or during the initial stages of manufacturing.
The main goal of this inspection is to identify potential quality risks and issues at an early stage. For manufacturing in China, our team strongly recommend conducting a PPI QC inspection not later than 10% of the production batch has been completed. This enables manufacturers to address any issues and make necessary changes before the bulk production process has started. By catching potential quality concerns early on, manufacturers can minimize the risk of production delays or supply chain disruptions, and ultimately deliver high-quality products.
By sending an inspector to visit your supplier’s production site to conduct testing and quality assurance, you can receive an on-time report of your supplier’s readiness to start manufacturing your order. This report includes information on the production scheduled time and whether or not your production specifications and quality requirements have been fully understood by the factory production manager and production team. This provides you with the necessary information to make informed decisions and adjustments before the bulk of the manufacturing process begins.

Additional points that we may add to the checklist, depending on the specific manufacturing process, include:
By thoroughly verifying these checklist items and identifying any potential issues, we can help ensure that manufacturing processes meet the necessary quality control and quality assurance standards.
China Look Group conducts product pre-production inspection in accordance with AQSIQ, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 17020 sampling techniques and standards. When placing an order, clients should mention their specific sampling techniques and requirements.
When dealing with Asian manufacturers, it is important to know which parts of your product are being manufactured at your supplier’s production site and which are being outsourced. In China, it is common to outsource some product parts to third-party vendors to complete the final assembly. Our quality inspection team conducts a thorough check of your supplier’s raw supply chain flow and vendor quality assurance to ensure a transparent supply chain quality management system. This helps prevent any unforeseen delays in delivery lead times and provides you with peace of mind regarding your product’s quality control and assurance.
